Over the last few weeks I have been trying to marry together the two main section of code for my project. That being OpenCV’s face tracking and the Twitter API. These two bits of code did not like going together. Whenever I tried to merge the two bits of code, one of them would stop working properly. For example when I tried to get a camera feed to display at the same time as the Tweets, the camera feed would just show up as plain black with no feed at all. This, obviously, was a big problem as I needed that feed visible so I could track the faces. I searched for solutions online for a long time but there is very little documentation on OpenCV. For this reason I have decided to abandon using OpenCV and have had to almost entirely chanaged what my project will do. Until now the focus of my project was to make a piece of face tracking software that will draw tweets with a certain hash tag over peoples heads and follow hem around the space. As I’m now no longer using OpenCV I’ll have to use something else to visualise the space. The most promising alternative is the Minim library for sound.
